Exhibit With Us

The Johnson Center for the Arts (JCA) welcomes exhibition proposals from local, regional, and national artists working across a wide range of media. We are especially interested in thoughtful, well-developed bodies of work that engage community, storytelling, material exploration, and contemporary dialogue.

Exhibition proposals are accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed regularly throughout the year.

What We’re Looking For

Our primary gallery space typically supports exhibitions of approximately 30–40 works, though smaller or more focused proposals may also be considered depending on the medium and installation needs.

We welcome:

  • Solo, duo, or small group exhibitions
  • Emerging and established artists
  • Work across traditional and contemporary media
  • Proposals that offer opportunities for public engagement

Exhibition Scheduling

Selected proposals may be scheduled for future exhibition cycles or kept on file for short-notice opportunities as they arise. Artists are encouraged to indicate flexibility and readiness in their proposal.

JCA provides promotional support and typically hosts an opening reception when possible. Artist fees or honoraria may be available depending on funding and programming context.

How to Submit
Artists interested in exhibiting at JCA are invited to complete our Exhibition Proposal Submission Form, which includes:

  • A brief exhibition description
  • Information about scale and readiness
  • Scheduling availability
  • Sample images of recent work

Submitting a proposal does not guarantee an exhibition. All submissions are reviewed with care, and proposals may be retained for future consideration.
